#29 – Jonny Hylton

Jonny Hylton former England 7s and Premiership player with Wasps and Worcester is my guest this week.

Our careers converged from diametrically opposite directions in 2010 at Esher Rugby club where we were team-mates for a couple of joyful seasons.

This interview was recorded in January of 2020 and we discussed Jonny’s endless list of nicknames, what it was like to be a youngster at Wasps and being taken under the wing of then England full-back – Josh Lewsey, the disappointment of being released as a 22-year and then being at a struggling premiership club, fighting through injuries and desperately trying to get established, the incredible experience of playing for England 7’s during the absolute glory days under former guest and friend of the pod – Mike Friday and the decision to step down from full-time rugby and look ahead to a future career. All that and there is some coaching chat as well.
